Anzu nodded at her friends and for the rest of the way home she was silent. She thought about a lot of things, about where it was she was willing to draw the line and why; once more her friendship with Yugi had changed her, and once upon a time she would have convinced herself forever that it didn't matter what anyone thought of her, once she had the money she'd have the last laugh.
Upon reaching her front door, she thanked everyone and said good-bye, taking off inside and rushing for the shower. Fortunately Mom and Dad were still busy at work, so she was able to rid herself of the skimpy uniform promptly and began the laborious task of feeling clean again. Fortunately, one of her little secrets was that she just loved hot showers, and after thirty minutes she'd felt like she'd made some progress.
After that though, she found herself thinking about Yugi's offer; working for Grandpa Sugoroku at the Kame game shop? Well, certainly compared to the slimeball whose foot she just crushed, Yugi's grandpa was an angel. And he'd definitely pay fair, and not force her into some stupid low-cut tightly fitted uniform...and she'd be working right alongside Yugi. Her best friend, for hours at a time. The only other person who had access to such close and constant contact with Yugi was Yami, and he was a spirit that dwelled in the Millennium Puzzle!
Could she handle even half that much contact, day in and day out, without doing something stupid to wreck their friendship? It wasn't impossible, she knew that; her feelings for the boy had been a confused jumble for some time now, but ever since Battle City she thought that she was coming close to a decision. But considering what she knew had to happen, was she just settling for the one that she knew she could have, as opposed to the one she wanted?
Even so, could she afford not to get the money she needed for the dream? She rested on this, and in the morning she decided that if she could bite the bullet once, she could do it again.
She was still caught off guard when she saw Yugi right outside her front door.

"Yugi!"
